XPEL Grows INDYCAR Presence With Team Penske

At Sunray Tint we firmly believe in working with the best in the industry and we are proud to be an authorized XPEL Tint & Protection Dealer. Here is some exciting news from XPEL about their NTT Indy Car Series Race at Texas Motor Speedway.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. / SAN ANTONIO, TX – XPEL (NASDAQ: XPEL), a leading provider of protective films and coatings, announced today it will increase its presence in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES through an enhanced partnership with Team Penske and two-time series champion Josef Newgarden.

XPEL will be the primary sponsor of the No. 2 Chevrolet for three races during the upcoming 2021 season, increasing its primary presence from two races in 2020 – the company’s first year as an INDYCAR SERIES partner. With its distinctive yellow and black design, the No. 2 XPEL Chevy will be driven by Newgarden during the May 1-2 doubleheader at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS), including the second race of the weekend – the XPEL 375 on Sunday afternoon. Newgarden will also race the XPEL Chevrolet on August 14 in the series race on the road course at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. XPEL will also be an associate sponsor for Newgarden and the No. 2 Chevy throughout the 2021 INDYCAR SERIES season.

“We are proud to see our partnership with XPEL continue to grow as they build on their INDYCAR presence,” said Roger Penske. “XPEL can help reach its business goals by connecting with fans of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, and Josef has been a great representative for the company on and off the track. We look forward to continued success with XPEL and the No. 2 Dallara/Chevrolet team this season.”

Newgarden helped welcome XPEL to the Team Penske INDYCAR SERIES partner family in 2020 when he won the pole position at TMS in what turned out to be the opening race of a season that was delayed by COVID-19.

“Last year, the XPEL brand had the perfect INDYCAR debut with Team Penske and Josef Newgarden,” said Ryan Pape, XPEL CEO. “This year we are thrilled to see Josef suit up for a third race driving the No. 2 XPEL  INDYCAR and are especially excited to see him race at the XPEL 375.”

Since joining Team Penske prior to the 2017 INDYCAR SERIES season, Newgarden has won a series-leading 15 races as the native of Hendersonville, Tenn. captured the series championship in 2017 and 2019 before finishing as series runner up last season. The American star has produced strong recent results on the 1.5-mile TMS oval, as he led 54 laps and won during his championship season of 2019 before he produced a third-place Texas finish last season.

“I was a customer of XPEL even before they became a partner on the No. 2 Chevrolet at Team Penske,” said Newgarden. “They are a first-class company with top-notch products, and their support of Team Penske has been amazing. We will certainly be working hard to deliver a win for them in their home state at the XPEL 375.”

3 Most Common Questions About Auto Tint

The 3 Most Common Questions About Auto Tint

Headlight covers, body frame enhancements, custom rims – these are just a few of the vehicle modifications a car owner may choose to enhance the look of their property.

Window films fall into this category. They can do a lot for a vehicle by changing the color or hue of the windows. But for many people, this seemingly simple modification is much more complex than initially thought.

This is because window films come with plenty of common questions and concerns – at least among those who are buying Auto Tint for the first time. This can include those who have never used window films before and those who are buying films from a company they haven’t ever purchased from. Here are a few of the most common questions about window films.

uv rays cancer

Are Window Films Good for Solar Protection?

Many people invest in window films because they love the look of darkened windows. While this modification can add a unique aesthetic touch, it can also be used to provide some much-needed protection on warm days.

When the sun is out and there isn’t a lot of cloud coverage, it’s easy for cars to heat up quickly. Standard windows, even if they’re dark, offer little in the way of protection from UV rays. A good window film can provide high levels of climate control, allowing drivers to keep their vehicle cool without requiring them to rely too heavily on their air conditioning.

But what about the looks? Sure that isn’t all films are known for, but do all films provided a unique appearance?

What Colors Do Window Films Come In?

Many people look to window films for added privacy and solar control. But there’s no denying films are an aesthetic modification in many ways.

Window films can come in various colors, and can maintain their color even through years of use. Colored films can be useful in various instances. Whether a person wants to make their windows match their vehicle’s existing tint or they just want a change of appearance, these simple addons can be a great solution.

A splash of color can be a nice change, but what about the way the film performs? Will its color affect its solar control properties, or interfere with equipment that transfers wireless signals?

How Efficient is Vehicular Window Film?

In terms of efficiency, window film gets the job done. No matter what color the film is or how dark it makes the windows, films from Autobhan can always deliver their advertised levels of heat rejection.

Films can deliver the right balance between looks and performance, and even hold up against common concerns like interference with radar equipment and other similar signals. Not only will the films not cause problems of this type, but they can provide their benefits of aesthetic enhancement and heat reduction for years to come.

Even though window films are a simple product, it’s good to ask the right questions before buying. With the ability to enhance a car’s looks, improve its solar control properties, and do all this without any signal interference, window films are a great accessory.

Will Ceramic Window Film Keep A Car Cooler?

Does Having Ceramic Window Tint Installed Keep Your Car Cooler?

Windows are good for keeping intruders and pests out of your vehicle. But what about heat?

Many people think that tinted windows are all they need to keep the heat from overwhelming them once the temperature rises. Unfortunately, factory tints are usually designed for style and privacy over protection.

Autobahn’s Ceramic Window Film is designed to help you reject the vast majority of heat from coming through your vehicle’s windows and making the interior uncomfortable. You can prevent sunburns, heat exhaustion, and other problems by opting for this simple modification.

The Dangers Heat Poses for Drivers

It is easy to think turning up the air conditioner or rolling down the windows is all you need to do to combat the heat while you’re driving. We know this can help you cool things down, but it doesn’t stop the sun’s rays from coming into your vehicle’s interior through the windows.

The result is a situation where your air conditioner must constantly battle against incoming heat. This can be very burdening for your vehicle.

There are also situations where UV rays can come through vehicle windows, causing sunburns to those inside. Conditions like these are very common among babies and young children who have sensitive skin and may be unable to wear sunscreen.

Finally, heat coming into your vehicle means you could be at risk for conditions like heat exhaustion. This is especially dangerous when you’re on the road.

Rejecting Heat with Ceramic Material

Our ceramic window film is specifically designed to protect you against the hazards of heat while you’re in a vehicle. With stable construction, the film avoids discoloration or delamination effectively, and offers you the ability to reduce heat.

Different options are available when you’re shopping for ceramic window film, with some versions offering up to 90% heat rejection. With thorough protection like this, it is much easier to avoid the problems caused by high temperatures and harsh rays.

Beat the Heat with Ceramic Window Film

Drivers have a lot to contend with on the roads. The heat shouldn’t pose a problem, but countless motorists deal with stuffy, uncomfortable vehicles when they don’t have to. Using ceramic window film stops the vast majority of heating from ever making it into your vehicle. This means less of a reliance on AC and reduced risk of health issues related to excessive heat.

Why More Drivers Are Using Paint Protection Film

Why More Drivers Are Using Paint Protection Film

Paint protection film (PPF) is the type of accessory that ends up on a lot of cars for a lot of different reasons.

This simple accessory has become a sensation for many reasons. Some people like it because they’re tired of trying to guard their vehicle against the plethora of hazards out there. Rather than investing in individual solutions, they turn to an all-purpose protective tool.

Others desire to keep their vehicle in prime condition throughout the time they use it. This can help them preserve the appearance, save money on costly repairs, and even get more out of the car when it comes time to trade in or resell. Here are the top four advantages of PPF.

Why Are So Many People Turning to PPF?

  1. PPF is a Versatile Protective Accessory

Anti-moisture wax, sap remover, bug cleaning kits – there are plenty of accessories and tools out there designed to help drivers guard their vehicle’s paintjob.

Things like excess water, tree sap, bugs, road salt, debris, and other hazards can take a hefty toll on any car’s exterior. PPF offers the type of holistic and all-encompassing protection people look for to help them keep their vehicle looking great.

  1. PPF Can Protect Graphics and Decals

Delivery drivers, public transportation companies, shippers, and many other types of organizations decorate their vehicles with company-specific decals. This can prove very useful for advertising purposes, effectively turning the car into a mobile billboard.

But when the elements and hazards of the road begin taking their toll on a vehicle, any body graphics can be the first casualty. A peeling or tarnished logo can make the business look bad, which is why many drivers turn to PPF to protect their investments.

  1. PPF Can Complement an Exterior Paintjob

Sometimes a paintjob by itself isn’t quite enough to satisfy the image-focused car owners of the world. They want something that can help accentuate the colors and design, which makes PPF a top choice.

In addition to the protection they offer, these films can help cap off a great exterior and make a paintjob really pop off. The combination of added visual appeal and long-term protection makes for a great mix, giving older cars a little more shine and helping newer cars show off their looks a little easier.

  1. PPF Offers Long-Term Benefits, Especially During Resale

While most people think about what their car can do for them while they own it, there is always the chance they may decide to trade it in or resell it someday.

Trying to touch up a vehicle and correct months or years of wear before resale can be tough, and in some cases simply impossible. Protecting the vehicle while it is being used is a much better option. Though car owners do put their money into an asset that is subject to depreciation, this process can be slowed greatly with the right type of protective film from a trusted automotive accessory company.

The History of Paint Protection Film & Clear Bra

A PAINT PROTECTION FILM TIMELINE

History of Clear Bra

The First Clear Bra- AKA Helicopter Tape

Many things that you use on a day-to-day basis originated for military use. This is true for paint protection film. In the mid-1950s during the Vietnam War, the military looked for a way to protect and extend the life of helicopter rotor blades. The rotor blades were being damaged by flying debris during landing and take-off. The military received a solution for their problem in the form of helicopter tape, a thermoplastic urethane that could be applied to rotor blades for protection without hindering performance.

The Original Car Bra

In 1961, “The Original Car Bra” was invented when three German engineers walked into Bill’s Upholstery Shop, asking Bill Colgan if he would redesign a protective cover for their personal Porsches. The very first pattern was for the Porsche 356.

History of car bra

For years stretchable black vinyl car bras were the only option for protecting automotive paint from rock chips and scratches. Also known as the bonnet bra, front-end cover, hood bra, auto bra, hood mask, and car mask, not everyone was pleased with the original car bra. A common complaint was that the car bra took away from the looks and appeal of vehicles and many argued that the car bra created damage to the vehicles paint instead of protecting against it.

Helicopter Tape + Car Bra = Clear Bra- Paint Protection Film

Fast forward to the 1980’s and helicopter tape was being sold as Ski Saver a product that provides protection to the tops of downhill racing skis. Around the same time, the protective film had also made its way into the automotive industry. Professional racing teams applied the clear protective film to the front end of their race cars for protection against track rubber, road debris, and close contact driving.

auto racing protection

Since the black vinyl bra had already made a name for itself in the industry as the car bra, it made sense that the reformulated version of the original helicopter tape is dubbed as “Clear Bra”. Clear Bra is designed to stretch and contour over the curved surfaces of the front end of a vehicle to provide protection again roadway debris, parking-lot nicks and scratches, harmful UV rays that fade car paint, and many other elements that can damage your vehicle’s paint.

The Evolution Of Paint Protection Continues

Clear Bra Paint Protection Films continue to evolve becoming thinner, easier to apply, and since the introduction of XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS Paint Protection Film in 2011, paint protection can also be self-healing.

What’s In A Name?

Clear Bra Paint Protection Films have been called many things. In the Northwestern part of the United States, Clear Bra is referred to as Clear Mask or Clear Wrap. In Canada, you may hear Clear Bra being called Stone Guard. No matter what you call it the purpose is clear, Clear Bra Paint Protection Film protects your investment and preserves the integrity of your vehicles paint year after year.

When you want to maintain the clean, flawless look of a new paint job, get paint protection from an experienced, trained and certified Paint Protection Film Installer to guarantee that your vehicle stays protected!

Choosing The Best Auto Tint Is Important

Adding Automotive Window Film to Your Vehicle

For any number of reasons, drivers and vehicle owners might consider adding protective window film to their automobile. Much like adding residential window film, having protective film professionally installed on a car or truck can go a long way toward improving comfort, safety, and visibility.

Moreover, high-quality automotive film can help drivers better protect their investment on a car, truck, or SUV. Whether an owner plans to keep their vehicle indefinitely or has an eye on trading it in at some point, automotive window film can keep a vehicle’s interior as pristine as possible.

Top Reasons to Add Automotive Window Film

1. Preserve the Vehicle’s Interior

Much like the interior of a home, the interior of a vehicle has a number of materials that are susceptible to ultraviolet (UV) ray damage. Sun damage can cause cracking, discoloration, and fading to the vehicle’s console and seats, and over time UV rays can cause damage to a vehicle’s leather upholstery.

Much like residential window film, automotive window film can protect an owner’s investment while also enhancing privacy and helping to control and reduce solar glare. Top-quality window film improves the comfort and value of a vehicle in several different ways, one of which is by keeping a vehicle’s interior as vibrant as possible.

2. Prevent Possible Heat Damage

Similarly, standard automotive glass not only allows more heat to enter a vehicle’s cabin, but also traps the heat inside the vehicle. Car and truck owners who typically keep temperature-sensitive materials or electronics in their vehicles may want to consider the added value of professionally-installed window film, as high-quality film dramatically reduces solar heat.

3. Protect and Salvage Windows

While standard automotive glass is held together with a bonding agent, high-quality automotive window film takes this concept to a new level. Vehicle owners who incur chips and breaks in their windshield or windows are often able to have their windows repaired if high-grade automotive film has been installed.

Additionally, automotive window film can prevent shards of glass from cutting passengers in the event of a collision, and also deter would-be thieves from breaking into a given vehicle. While vehicle owners hopefully will not have to experience these events, the added security of professionally-installed automotive window film provides added peace of mind.

Transition To A Energy Efficient Home

Cost Savings of Installing Residential Window Film

Many people drive past homes that showcase professionally-installed residential window film, and wonder if the installed cost of an outstanding window film is justifiable. After all, the benefits are clear: high-grade films not only enhance privacy and security, but also drastically reduce solar glare and add a palpable amount of aesthetic appeal.

That said, for some homeowners, the decision to have residential window film professionally installed comes down to dollars and cents. Homeowners have a litany of ways in which they can upgrade or improve their homes, and many are weighing the benefits of installing Sunray Tint Residential Window Tint versus improving their home in a different way.

In short, the yearly savings from investing in an energy-efficient window setup can be substantial. This post will briefly break down some of the actual savings that homeowners can see over a calendar year, as well as touch upon some of the biggest benefits of installing residential window film.

While environmentalists and financially-savvy homeowners pioneered the concept of home energy efficiency, the idea has become very mainstream. Homeowners and renters often cringe when they receive their peak-season energy bills, and are always on the lookout for ways to drive down energy costs while keeping their homes comfortable.

A number of factors will affect the total savings of installing energy efficient windows – namely the climate, the number of windows, and the size of the house – but homeowners can expect to see their daily energy cost cut in half or even into one-third, based on recent reports.

Several studies have concluded that doors and windows account for a 20% heat loss during winter months. Meanwhile, top-grade residential window films, such as those available from Sunray Tint, are capable of refracting up to 66% of all solar heat during summer months.

Homeowners living in seasonal climates can expect conversative yearly energy bill savings of 40%, but dedicated homeowners and residents can cut their energy costs in half or less, per multiple reports and studies. Again, there are many factors at play, but this should give homeowners an idea of the amount they can save annually with energy-efficient window film.

Advantages of Residential Window Film

A top-quality residential film from Sunray Tint not only improves energy efficiency, but also provides the following benefits:

  • Repels 99.9% of ultraviolet (UV) rays, protecting residents from skin cancers and sun damage
  • Protects interior and furniture from fading, cracking, and discoloration
  • Low-reflectivity films enhance visual appeal of any home without compromising a resident’s view
  • Discourages break-ins by increasing window durability while also increasing privacy

Sunray Tint also offers energy measurement as well as a plethora of case studies supporting the effectiveness of our products. For additional information request your commercial window tint quote now!

Control Solar Heat With Window Films

Control Solar Heat in your Home or Office with Window Films

Whether you realize it or not, solar heat has a massive impact on your everyday life. It can impact your vision, general health, work morale, comfort level at home, your office and more. The sun’s heat is a great thing in most cases, but there are times when it is simply too much.

Solar heat can impact you so much that you may have wanted to control it. While the ability to control solar heat may seem impossible to some, it is not that hard – in fact, with the right window film from a company like Sunray Tint, you can avoid the problems solar heat can bring.

How Solar Heat Can Impact Your Life

Solar heat is good in many cases, but too much can impact you negatively. Here are three ways it can impact your life.

  1. Surface Fading, Peeling, and Chipping

The sun’s heat is a product of constant exposure to the sun’s rays. When this happens, you aren’t just dealing with warmth – you’re dealing with a harmful impact on your indoor furnishings. Those areas of the floor and pieces of furniture by windows could be sustaining a lot of damage. Solar heat and rays over a long period can cause fading, peeling, and chipping, leading to costly replacements. Sometimes just the presence of hot indoor conditions can be harmful to surfaces, leading to bubbles, molding, and other common problems that are costly and inconvenient to fix.

  1. Higher Electric Bills

Solar heat is like a natural HVAC unit set on a warm temperature. When this causes a home or business to heat up, you have to turn on the air conditioner to combat it. However, this can lead to higher electric bills, which are artificially increased as the unit has to compete with the sun’s natural influx of heat. The worst-case scenario involves the air conditioner overworking itself, meaning you not only had higher electric bills but now you have a repair bill to deal with on top of it all.

  1. Risk of Health Issues

Solar heat is an annoyance to some people. The feeling of a stifling, sweltering indoor environment can make a day miserable. It makes it hard for you to relax when you’re at home. Moreover, if you’re at work, it makes it extremely difficult to be productive and focus on the essential tasks at hand. There’s a higher risk than just discomfort; however, as warm temperatures can pose health risks. Some people may encounter breathing problems, skin irritation, or even feelings of lightheadedness when they’re exposed to warm temperatures for too long.

How Can You Control Solar Heat?

The problems of solar heat are obvious. We all know how intense the sun can be, and it can hurt your property, bank account, or even physical health. Don’t fall victim to these problems – use a window film specifically engineered to reflect solar rays, giving you better control of your home, business, car, or boat. It’s a small step, but it has a big impact.
